.....and of course when you are dealing with people who believe that they go straight to heaven when they blow themselves up you have the added fear that anyone could be a potential terrorist.
Again, correct. And frightening.
No.

Since we're on "terrorist plots" how about a bit of history on that.
Since it probably isn't of Islamic origin. Let's go back a few 1000 years.

This is a long download, but it is on Israel and Judaism.

That is way too angry-christian for me to take very seriously. Cant watch all of it now, but will later, and see what I think. I've been studying religions (as a mild pastime) for quite some time.
The feel of this 'documentary' is very disturbing to me though, it's drawing too amny paralells between the beliefs of the film makers adn ohter, more violent fanatical religious groups.

It is a Christian view point in most respects. But just from a historical standpoint,
it offers quite a bit of Talmud that I was unaware of. And, given the historical Jewish
annihilation of races coupled with the Talmud view that if you ain't Jewish your a gentile dog, well
it offers little reason to support Israel over Arabs. Both are best left alone.

And, I can assure you,  uS foreign policy (meddling)  has produce more harm in the world than
good. Primarily uS policy has been to help big business from the get go, General Butler had it right
when he commented on this after his years of highly decorated service. "War is a Racket" and I'd add
all uS foreign policy has been a racket. Have you read "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".
It is an eye opener. Further, it is clear to me that most of what has passed for foreign policy from
the uS government has been and still is un-Constitutional. As is the continued usurpation of power
by the President, but wait, he sez as Lincoln said, "the constitution is just a piece of paper"
and both those monkeys (oh wait, one was an ape) wiped their arses with it.

I don't think we should be pointing fingers at the US, specifically. All throughout history there have been 'strong' civilisations that have taken advantage of 'weak' ones....the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Spanish, Portugese, Brits, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Chinese (and so it goes on).

For sure, and the list goes on, like the Australians taking....uhmmm ok forget that.
The Canadians taking advantage of....ok, forget that!

Hmmmm, Ok Ok I got one. The Hurons killed many Iroquois' before the Europeans landed in the New World.

As long as there is $, and one State/group has an inordinate amount compared to another State/group, there will be conflicts fanned by
misguided
religious fanatics, stockbrokers, lawyers, etc etc.

A question for you polictical junkies:
What 3 families have been in high positions of power in USA from 1968-2006 all but 8 years?
peace,
michel

Jews haven't flown commercial airliners full of civilians into our buildings yet. Nor have they placed bombs in the subways of the UK. Nor were the party to the first couple of attempt on the WTC... or behind the recent plan to blow up some commercial airliners full of civilians at americas major airports coming form England. Do I need to go on why we might want to support Isreal more than we do Islamics??
No.

Where will it all end?

I was just looking at the news this evening and they are counting up the cost of the damage in the Lebanon the Israelis did...something like $8 billion. And that is on top of the $40 billion that the Lebanaon still owes for stuff done during their 15 years of internal strife.

Problem is no one wants to be a tourist there now (their major source of income) so they'll have to go cap in hand to the rich countries for help. I wonder how much the Israelis will give them....?

Let me reitterate : Jews arent attacking us, muslims are. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Jews may think of us as 'gentile dogs' but at least they aren't trying to blow us up. Add to that that our 'christian views' are based on one of the bloodiest foundations of human interactions ever. As a christian, you must take ownership of the millions of lives lost and tortures and genocides and invasions (the crusades, anyone?) all in the name of Christ and God if you are going to hold Isreal responsible for the attacks they made on various peoples well over two thousand years ago.

I agree totally. So much pain and anguish inflicted throughout history in the name of God. Makes me not feel so bad that I am a non-believer. To everyone else I'm condemned to a life in purgatory when I croak, but I'm very happy in my own skin.

I agree, on my good days I'm an agnostic. That said, I doubt that any religion is at fault, but rather people's misguided interpretations or their deliberate twisting of various teachings to achieve their own ends.

Humans will use any excuse to justify what they want to do, good or bad. Religion is an incredibley easy vehicle with which to justify your actions.

How right you are here, many "Christians" are doing it today to justify their little crusades.

Just found out that they are disallowing any carry-on liquids on to local flights here in BC. The exceptions are baby formula, breast milk or liquid medication......hmmmm they'd better not let the terrorists know that there are exceptions or we'll start seeing bombs made from chemicals disguised as breast milk.
