Welcome to the world of motorcycling...you have a lovely bike. It definitely doesn't look like a 74, but you should be able to confirm the actual date by the serial numbers.
As to your stated problems, they are not uncommon and can likely be rectified. However, finding a good mechanic/garage to do the work can be a challenge if not expensive. Learning to do it yourself can be rewarding and not too difficult for most. This forum has lots of good advice and information - if you can't find it, just ask. You should start by downloading thee manuals and become familiar with those. BTW, you mentioned a "gas leak" - where is it leaking from? Also the "oil leak"?
