75 CB550 Ignition Switch Connector
« on: August 30, 2013, 10:57:33 AM »
Hi there,

I've dug my old project 550 out of the corner of the garage and have ordered all sorts of rebuild parts for it, gonna get the old girl back on the road, but am having issues locating one connector that one of the previous bike caretakers decided to cut off...the ignition switch connector.  It's a 5-wire ignition switch with the steering lock that sits between the gauges.  The wiring harness is in really good condition and the only bad part about it is that the wires leading to the ignition are cut and the plug missing.  For the life of me I can't find this plug anywhere.  Any suggestions?  Any connectors out there that would fit?  Any leads would be much appreciated.

The switch:

Either go to a breaker and cut one off another loom 400/550k3/cbx OR fit individual spade connectors and carefully sort out which wire goes where

That would be awesome.  I've looked on Ebay and have not had any luck finding one.  I can sort out the wires without much trouble, but would like to make it as functional as I can in case I ever need to take it appart or replace the switch.

I have one too.

I am using a '77 550F harness with a between the gauge connection with a '75 550k frame with the under tank switch. The '75 parts bike had a key and the '77 F basket case didn't, so I am just going to adapt the '77 F harness, which will involve removing the existing harness side connector.

If Freeze doesn't have one shoot me a PM.
