FUEL QUESTION

I have an 77 CB750k. Do I need to concern myself with Ethanol in my fuel? I usually purchase 100% gasoline but the only station in my area that has it has let me down. I filled up the other day and suddenly couldn't get the bike over 60. It just wouldn't go any faster. I drained it went and got some other fuel (with Ethanol) and it runs fine now.

Well I know its horrible for weed eaters chain saws and such but doesn't seem to harm my truck. Just looking for an answer!

There have been a lot of threads. No one has reported any damage that I know of. That does not mean issues will not show up in the future. Most people use Regular.

I've had problems with failing o-rings in the carb fuel connector tubes, requiring two carb rack disassemblies in one season. I have changed to non-ethanol fuel (Shell premium, the only one available here except for $$$$ racing fuel) and haven't had any problems since. I can't claim it's definitely the ethanol, but these seals were problem free for decades before 10% ethanol was introduced. The o-rings were all replaced with Honda OEM parts about 5 years ago.
