77 Honda 750f Super Sport Rear Shocks
« on: September 08, 2013, 02:31:45 PM »
First time with a Passenger on my 77 750F. Felt the Rear Shocks bottom out on bumps. Are there New Shocks to replace them? And NO, she wasn't 300 pounds.

Try cranking up the pre load a notch or two.

I recommend Hagon as a replacement

Had this happen too when I had my good lady on the back. It wasn't her fault either, but that didn't stop me letting her think it ;D

Anyways, fitted Hagons and problem solved.

Can you tell me how to "Try cranking up the pre load a notch or two."
Anyone know what Hagon Shocks fit a 77 750F Supersport? Looks like they have a lot of options.

Just got a set of Hagons for my 1977 750K.Just google Hagon USA and give them a call. They are very knowledgeable and helful with the set up.They'll ask how you ride,1 up 2 up,weight etc.....Then help you select the shock, you buy direct from them,I didn't have a problem and the bike rides much better than with the 35 yr old stock shocks that were on it. Definitely the way to go.

if you look at your shocks, there are tiered notches on them which you can use your spanner wrench to move to your desired selection of pre-load.

Thought I would try and adjust them first. They look like they are adjusted to the "Highest Notch Setting." Maybe Factory Setting? Anyone tell if they adjusted to the max in one direction or another?

Reliv, if I am seeing that photo correctly the shocks are set to the softest setting. Try turning the collar clockwise so it increases preload.

Looking fora Spanner Wrench. Local Mechanics do not have any. I see them on line. Anybody know what size Spanner Wrench I need. No other way than using a Spanner Wrench?

If you have a centre (center) stand you should be able to do it by hand..

You can still order the spanner wrench from Honda.  OEM p/n:  89215-404-670

The online sites show pricing under $4 before shipping.
