Yes i'll admit there are some nice parts about the bike, like the frame, the Webers, the Ceriani forks and the A.R.D. magneto.   ;)  8)     But as many find out, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.  Good luck !   ;) :)

I'll lend you a hand.

first "clear title".... nope you state you don't have one bill of sale only.
and "It is in functional, as raced condition." but you state it doesn’t run?
"This is believed to be the first, and only surviving sandcast competition CB750 motorcycle on the planet."
If your going to make a claim like this you'll need to have a source of some kind? I'm sure it's rare but "only one" and "first" is a bit of a stretch to the reader otherwise.

Last is the price some knowledgeable people have made some guesses as to what to could go for are you even in the ballpark?

Last don't listen to me I don't know #$%*! It's your bike list it as you please.  :)

Stop calling it a sandcast bike....
The motor has a giant hole in it...
It's like saying that the original bike had a red tank on it and that's super valuable.

Personally I like the bike and wish it was priced back down here on early as I would like to own it.
But really it is a collection of some parts that slightly resemble a race bike

Some valid opinions for sure.
As for title, well, like mileage, eBay makes you enter something. Hence the footnote. I should have chosen something other than 'clear'.
'Functional, as raced' is referring to the frame itself. Again, not clear, my bad, but can't change it without a whole new auction.
As for first and only remaining, that's my opinion. While I certainly wouldn't mind being proven wrong, anyone able to make that claim would have a highly prized possession.
And when is a sandcast not a sandcast? When you scratch the tank? Change a tire? Break a case? Just curious what the rules are. I'm never set out to #$%* in the sandbox, but it happens.

What i saw was a small fixed hole in upper case. Not too bad,if so.
Interesting bike, be better if you could establish who and when built it and where it ran.

Internals of the motor would make a big difference in price too.

Anyone remember that alloy framed bike from about a year or two ago?
Was more a pile of parts then a bike.
Similar if not the same frame, webers, don't know if it had a mag on it or not.
Was missing a few bits.
Want to say it finally sold in the $2500-4k range after a few listings.

What I have been told, just from some old timers that claim to know him, is Ralph Muldoon built the frame.
I was able to get Ralph's number this past weekend, I hope to swing by his shop and show it to him.
RC engineering is close by, but have yet to speak to Mr. Collins personally.
I do understand it's all about the provenance. eBay is a great way to cull information, and insight, on a bike like this.
If I wasn't so into this bike, and it's potential, I would be pleased with the highest bidder. I just think there is still more to be gained, not necessarily dollars, but some knowledge and history. The good stuff!

Ah.  Makes sense.  But then again it would not have surprised me if there were two alloy drag bikes in CA.
I remember that bike becase I wanted it then too

Thanks for chiming in VC.  Where and when did you get the bike? Bought it as a basket case?

And when is a sandcast not a sandcast?
A sandcast has the most worth when it is attached to the numbers-correct frame, and wrinkle tank, ect. Any deviation from original condition detracts from the value. A restorer would place no value on the mag, the Webers, or the frame, and the RC stamping and damage to the case detracts from the value of the motor. The sandcast guys get anal about that stuff. ::)

I've got a friend with an inline 4 Indian. It had a patch where a rod was poked through the case. he had it repaired and you can't see it now. Same with an Excelsior I saw a couple weeks ago. Repaired by the same guy. I'd take one to him in a minute.

Then I'd look for an appropriate number frame and build a sandy. Put a K whatever engine in the drag bike. But that's me.

The speed parts have the value, not the way the engine cases were made in this case.
There is an intangible "cool" factor, but don't think it adds much cash value.

I agree. I really think in this case, the bike should be parted out, with the rolling frame, Webers, mag, and motor sold separately.

Unfortunately in this case I don't think the whole is greater then the sum of its parts.
