550 super sport original 4 into 1
« on: August 04, 2016, 09:51:48 PM »
So I bought a 72 cb500 today for $100 bucks, its my second one. The first one was a rolling chassis with a stuck motor. This one is a mostly complete bike, it won't start but there is good compression. I figured between the two I can get myself a running 1972 CB500 and go from there.

Im currently rebuilding a 1973 CB500 which is my main bike and I was talking myself out of spending money on some crap MAC pipe and I don't have 5-600 bucks to drop on a  nice exhaust. This 72' 500 I picked u today had a 550  super sport 4 into 1 on it in great condition...BOOM! I just got myself a new exhaust lol.

Here is my question...I have to modify the foot brake lever because the pipe rests just below it and doesn't allow the driver to push down on the lever...what kind of modifications could I do to make this all work.

There's a little more to it than that. The F frame is actually different and has an extended tab or arm  to mount the brake pedal. I'm not sure you can make it clear.
