Where can I get some nice controls?
« on: August 15, 2006, 11:32:20 AM »
After finding out my left controls on my CB750 were not only less than functional but some bizarre European edition, I have managed to make a series of poor purchases trying to get a functional set of true CB750 left and right controls.

I either end up with High/Low Beam Switches on both bars or really corroded pieces of garbage that are rat chewed and missing parts.

I don't mind polishing and cleaning and soldering, but I would really like to find a set of controls that are in good shape that will connect to my 73-75 wiring harness that I picked up from partsnmore.com.

I see NOS left controls on eBay for 119.00 but I am hoping some of my CB750 brethren can turn me on to a place that I can pick up both the left and right controls at a reasonable price.

Anyone?

Thanks,

Johnny

I am looking for the same thing.  I need right side controls with a starter button and kill switch.  I will be running a pro motion turbo throttle and it isn't compatable with the stock set-up.

After a bit, I may be getting rid of both of mine. I will let you know. I am moving all controlls to switches under the tank.
No.

I will most likely move my starter switch under the tank or get one of the key style ignitions.  That would solve the kill switch problem also.  Now we are on to something.

It will seriosuly clean up the bars. With those carbs I got, I have to replace the throttle assembly, so have to remove the buttons there anyway. May as well clean up the other side too while im at it. I think a bank of dip switches (one momentary for ignition) will be cool.

(although I'm trying to decide left or right for kill switch)

I'd really like to get hold of controls from an older ('60s) bike that are polished aluminum, like the ones on the CB175.

Having said that I like the idea of relocating switches and what-not to a more discreet part of the bike. Please post pictures, anyone who has done that, or ends up doing that. Thanks.
