idle mixture screws

I  have purchased a rebuild kit for my k2 750 carbs in the kit are 4 small springs .when i cleaned the carbs i did not notice these little springs ,I have seen drawings which show the springs on the mixture screws, are they for some years and not others ?? what purpose do they serve?? ???

The springs go in the idle mixture holes before the screws.  Their purpose is to provide some resistance against the screws to keep them from vibrating out of adjustment.  Your bike should have them.

Sometimes the screws don't fall out of the carbs readily. Sometimes you need to fish them out with a dental pick. If they weren't there, someone probably didn't rebuild it right the last time...
