Few little details coming along.  Managed to source a rear brake cable from a cl77/72 or something.  Nice and short/chunky with a handy adjuster.

Made an aluminium mount from scrap for the drum end, and started to make a steel mount for the pedal end to weld to the frame.

Would like this on the road in 6 weeks, but the devil is in the detail.  Got the rear cable sorted, hope to make the battery box tonight and weld it to the mudguard.  Got a chain and sprockets ( nearly made the o ring mistake).  Would like new shocks, but they can wait until I get an electronic speedo/rev counter.  (Any suggestions?)

Speedhut, Koso, Acewell. Speedhut allows you to customize the face for $0 charge. Some offer GPS-based speed, others Hall effect. Your choice-

Shorten your brake anchor, will make the cable look better.

I just read the whole thread, I would like to applaud you on jumping right in, getting a tight, and jumping right into tank making and making your own megaphones..
 I expect FunJimmy is thinking of a tig about now..

Got the frame, swingarm, and some other bits from the painter today, not going to reveal the final colour yet as I am not sure if it will be a popular choice, and I want to see what it is going to look like with a few bits attached.

Took the sump off to fit a new gasket and check I had seated the cam chain tensioner correctly.  Found a couple of bits of piston ring in the sump, which explains the previous butcher job somebody did on the top end!

Well that should give you an idea of where I am aiming with this.  I made a tank for a mate who is doing the painting.  My wife picked the paint, I actually like it, not sure if the fairing would be too much if painted the same colour.

I like that alright, and I am generally a "black frame only" kinda guy.  I am thinking more colours the merrier for this race rep but no idea what would look good with that

Bought this off ebay for my dual disc setup, it was advertised as gl1000 but I'm not sure as others seem to have round reservoirs?  Might be cbx? Any ideas? Will it do the same job if cbx?

I have been, but there are round master cylinders and square ones with both two and four screw reservoir lids.  It is a bit confusing.  I was halfway through removing the paint when I took the pics.  Just trying to get some reassurance before spending a lot of money refurbing it.

Master cylinder is cbx.  Mocked up dual discs.  Used the speedo core as a spacer.  Bearing supplier says no dust cover or oil seal is needed for their bearings.
