Looks good. I don't think you could go with the bare metal look given the fairing is a large element. A cream or antique white color would look good with it. You wouldn't want a lot of yellow in the scheme with that shade of green, it would really make the green look bad. I could be an interesting scheme as it is kind of like the interior green on US aircraft during WWII. You could paint the interior of the cowling that same color and use a different color on the exterior...
The attached pic some will barf on and others can be OK with it or even like it.  Something like that shark mouth could be an eye catching scheme with the old school racer done up on the exterior of the cowling/fairing with names of old school 60s/70s CB performance part and race part suppliers.

I didn't expect it to tick over as well as it does, looking forward to getting the front brake and clutch lever fitted to get a run up the road.  Need to sort the charging side of the electrics too.

I've booked the m.o.t. (government roadworthiness test) for 18 August.  I go to the Isle of Man on August 20th so the deadline approaches

Very nice work.  I just read through the entire thread and I'm blown away.  Really, really impressed.

I reject your notion of how hard TIG welding is...watch this guy's YouTube video.  He welded the entire tank in less than a minute and even had time for a cup of tea!  ;D

I never said it was "hard", only time consuming. And I may have said "hard for you" based upon your efforts with a MIG  ;) TIG welding steel is far easier than aluminum in my opinion because of the nature of the parent metals and the weld. But still, it did take this bloke months and months to get it done (looking at his project timeline).  ;D ;)

Good news is that I have left all the bodywork at the painters, bad news is that he has been inundated with a lot of higher priced work on a deadline, so I'm going to cancel the government test in the meantime.  Got stainless lines made for the double calipers.  Removed and refitted the rocker cover with a smear of hylomar red to hopefully cure an oil leak.

I am struggling with the electrics though, and have been trawling here for an answer.  My David Silver reg/rec has six wires:

Three yellow for the three yellow from the alternator
Black/red control wire.
Red to the battery ?
Which only leaves a green which I presume is neutral?  So what feeds the field coil?

green to ground, best to ground the alternator nearby to itself too(put the green wire coming out the alternator straight to a ground,i put a spade connector on it and bolted it to the starter motor bolts. black and red needs a power source, ie hooked up to your ignition or aux if your using a motogadget, and red back to the battery

Thankyou, bit of wiring, probably remake footrest hangers to give the brake pedal more travel, replace some fastners, make an engine mounting bolt spacer which I lost, grease the swingarm, and maybe do a bit of lockwiring for more of a racer look.
