« on: September 13, 2013, 03:21:38 PM »
looked at this today.  it is huge compared to my 750f.  square guages and all.  nice 4 into 2.  did i mention this bike is huge.........almost 10 inches taller than my 750f.  and longer as well by couple inches.  what made these bikes so special?

First production bike in the 11's for the quarter mile.  See a few around time to time. There is a xs11 site too.
18 grand and 18 miles dont make you a biker

My brother had one, great bike.  Was just slightly after than the Kaw 1000 that I had at the time.  I didn't like the "torque lift" of the rear end when hammered, due to the shaft final drive.

Make sure it still has a good second gear, one weak spot on these. At the time they made good power and were up by the top of the heap.

My first XS1100 experience was riding down main street - me on my Kawasaki H2 and my friend on his RD350.  We pulled alongside this guy on a XS1100 - we're doing about 25-30 MPH or so. . . .

The guy on the XS1100 pulls in the clutch, revs only slightly, and dropped the clutch.  The rear wheel spun (and squeeled) for about a second - he just communicated to us - don't try it -you're mine - I'll own you.

We picked up our jaws and had to pull over and talk about this guys awe-inspiring bike . . . .
