1980 cb650 cafe
« on: August 01, 2014, 10:00:42 AM »
Heres my money pit that ive been working on for a while now. Started as a beat down cb650 custom that i found for sale right up the road. Got it for next to nothing because it was barely road worthy and the PO bought a harley. Engine is rebuilt and ready to go back in with gpz600r carbs mounted up. Tank and wheels are off a 1976 cb650.

I assume you meant that the wheels and tank are from a 1976 CB550, since the 650 was first produced in 1979, right?

What's the story with the motor?  Have you checked out paulages' 650 string in the high perf section?  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=40414.0

The wheels and tank are from a 750. If i did things the smart wauy i wouldve got them off of a 550 but im not that smart.

Theres not really anything done to the engine. I rebuilt it and smoothed the intake runners, so im wondering how these carbs are gonna work on the stock engine. After reading paulages write up it makes me want to tear apart my engine again and do some work haha
