First thing I'd do would be to pull the toolbag and those lights. If I was going for 2 headlights, I think I'd try to build a mount like I saw in the distant past. It had 2 rectangular lights (similar to fog lights but, actual high and low beam lights). It was an old chopper headlight mount that had the lights stacked and the bottom light stuck out just a little more than the top one did. I really had a 1 headlight system in mind. I tend to like the smaller headlight like on the 350 and 450 Cl models but. load it with enough of a bulb to reach out there. As for the front end, I was thinking a set of forks of of a CB650 or the later 75o w/ the dual calipers that are mounted behind and to the forks (without the swinging mount). I just don't care to have the clutter hanging on the front of the forks, if you're not going to have a front fender. As for the seat, I'd like to see the taillight recessed into the rear portion of the seat. I'd probably pull the upper covers on the rear shocks, leaving the springs fully exposed. I'd also fabricate some rearsets to put on it. Sorry Teal, I wouldn't be wrapping the pipes or sticking a 21incher on the front. Nor would I drop the rear wheel to a 16".
If I was doing a chopper or bobber style, maybe. That's about all I can come up with right now. I am, however, in the process of collecting parts to do my 450 and also the 78' 550 in the basic style that I described ( even though they both will be different from each other), collecting parts to do them. I'm also considering (after all the info I've seen here on this site recently) trying to build a screaming 650 motor housed in 550 cases and covers ( to give the appearance of a 550 but, with more punch). When I actually start the build, I'll try to post it with pictures. Also, I feel the need to say that anyone who has ideas or info, I welcome them. If I don't use the ideas, I hope you don't think anything about it. To each his own, I always say. What works for some may or may not work for me. It's as simple as that. Later on, Bill
