School me on the 360cc models...

I have read in a few places that the CL,CB 360 models were short lived in the Honda lineup. They were manufactured for just a few years following the huge success of the 350 twins. Over 500,000 were manufactured in the CB/CL 350 models.

What issues have you read and/or learned about the 360cc bikes. I am thinking on a CL model. (1975)

Hey TT:

I've got a daily runner 75 360T. It's a good fun bike about town.  Maybe that 6th gear?
My only complaints about it is vibration and the oil lamp for a headlight (not really but it's about that bright!)
Pre-recall the  slipper could catch and jam/break the cam chain and bring the bike to an unplanned stop. :(
The other problem was with the camshaft breaking.
Look at the engine serial # and if the recall has been done it should look like this -: .
You occasionally see a slipper appear on ebay.
Still, I love it and have two more waiting to be rehabbed.

This post talks about a engine oil mod to increase top end flow.

Even rehabbed they are not worth much, the pleasure for me is bringing something back and getting it back on the road.

I enjoy mine.  Rode the hell out of it for a few years.

And don't forget the short-lived CJ360T.  My personal favorite.
The "decontented" model.
Five speed, kick start only, front drum.   The twin "F" bike.  :)

I've got this one 90% restored now.  Kinda slacking on the last 10%.  :(

The CJ was a bust at the time but very desireable now with the coffee racer craze.   Yours is very nice CR and TTF that blue one was a beauty.  Nice bikes both.  I restored one for a customer several years back, no pics though....Larry

That original muffler alone is worth what I paid for the bike...

The CJ's were probably more popular overseas than in the US.
They also sold a CJ250T version in Australia and Europe.

The difference between 2nd and 3rd gear was a bit close.  Like they had to make room so they could fit 6th gear in there.

The clutch adjustment is tricky.  That ball and ramp set up is a good idea but after thirty plus years the ramps get worn.  Don't get greedy when you're doing the final adjustment at the lever or you'll be starting over.  Err on the side of extra slack in the lever.
