Wrinkle has crossed my mind... I am in the process of painting my engine a wrinkle black, wonder if it would be too much...?

Few parts back from powder, started reassembly of the rear end
Jimmy, ordered that powder you suggested for the frame, can't wait to try it out, thanks!

Fingers crossed. I hope you like it as much as I do.

That rear end looks amazing.
Nice work.

Is that lower shock mount , two piece and fitting over the rib ?
Looks really good..

I think your caliper mount, and rotor centre may look good in gold... Even spray paint..

754, I machined the rear shock mount out of some solid steel into a "U" shape. I then added a angled support going down to the rib on the swingarm.  Came out pretty good me thinks.
And you actually right on par with the gold addition...I will most likely paint the rear brake center the same color as the front rotors when I find a good match!

Godffrey, that is a good lookin rotor for sure!

Well, a little progress to date.  I was originally going to drop a built 836 that i have in this guy but decided that i'm a nice guy but not that nice...
So, since the original motor was a runner, I decided to use it and possibly build a milder street motor in time.

All covers are spares. Finals are powdered a low satin black.

Started with degreasing, then soda blasted it, and now it has its first coat of primer. Not exiting pics and definitely not the first motor pics...

Also got the rear caliper fully rebuilt and colored gold to add to the front color scheme...

Jens,

For some reason, your photos on your first 2-3 pages are gone (not showing).  Bummer!

I cannot remember which model 750 your bike started off as.  (K vs. F and year)

How close are you to completion? Are you planning to paint the tank or keep it bare-looking?

Don,

I just went back and saw that you are right! I have no idea where the picks went...?  When i have a spare moment I will try an go back and edit those posts.

The bike is a 1976 F model.

The bike is still a bit from completion.  After I get this motor ready, its mostly assembly for the main components. Still need to do the wiring and the fine detail additions.

Tank will be painted, have a color scheme in mind, but that's...... a secret....

Jens,

I'm looking forward to seeing what you hatch. It's a great build. Can you recap what you are doing to the motor?

Don,

The motor i planned to put in originally (the black motor you see in the pictures of the mock-up) is built as:

Built by M3 Racing
Bored and honed with 836cc JE pistons
Megacycle hardweld cam
Slipper tensioner
Racing cam chain
1.5mm oversize intake valves
Std ex valves (Black Diamond KPMI)
Heavy duty spring kit with Ti retainers
Serdi valve job
Ports throats opened up 80-85% of valve head size
New valve guide seals
New gaskets, oil seals
New primary chains and tensioner
HD clutch/springs.
Joker Machine point, clutch, starter motor cover and tappet covers.
Dyna S ignition
Top cam control cover

However, this will now be going in a chassis that I am building that uses much more era related parts in a much more visually stock frame. Hopefully the build thread will follow soon when I get this one wrapped up.

The motor for now for this project is a stock 750 with just the top end freshened up.

Jens

Got a few things done, all minor.

Milled up a brass recessed piece to hold the new start button on the upper fork top plate

got some new clipons...these are 0 degree and not sure if the will be more or less comfortable than stock degree clipons.  Anyone have input on this, I can still return them.  Also purchased some PCR shorty levers to clean up the front end and decided to wrap the grips in brown leather to match the seat.

lastly, engine covers back from powder coat.  All flat black

That's all for now!

0° clips aren't easy to come by.
I believe you're gonna like them.
Where did you find them?

Well Jimmy, the powder coaters actually ordered the incorrect powder.  I got impatient and had them coat it in a fine texture satin black.  I'll try the prismatic you suggested on the next build!

That's a bummer. I thought it looked a wee bit off.

Hi there, I dig your tank, did you build it from scratch? I can't view your first photos that you uploaded. Do you still have the template us used? Would like to build a fibre glass tank
