Need some advice for 1970 CB750A
« on: June 22, 2015, 10:35:33 pm »
Hi y'all, just got my 1st Honda...CB750A. It's been in storage, some rubber parts are dying...the rubber boot which goes over the hose to master cylinder union, the rubber for the rear brake switch/aluminum housing. Plastic parts seem ok. So my list for now is as follows:
1) I read that it can't run on unleaded fuel...what do I do then?
2)Which is the best oil to use in the engine/trans?
3)What is the best fluid to use in the  brake master cylinder?
4)What is best fluid to use in the front forks?
5)What tires do these machines like(mostly black top driving)?
6)Is there a preferred rear chain...O Ring?
Also will I need vacuum gauges to set up the carbs or is there a effective other way?
Cheers

1) run Unleaded....it will be fine.
2) any oil you like, I use synthetic because of the extra heat the converter makes
3) any DOT3, change it every season
4) ATF is what is called for and it works fine
5) Mine is chopped so I got no ideas
6) I run a X ring chain, its a life time purchase for a hondamatic
