78 cb750 k tank swap
« on: September 19, 2013, 09:33:16 AM »
Ok so , got a 78 with an older tank i think a 75-76 because of the color and the petcock is on the left
. This is a custom build so not using the stock seat so it doesnt have ro line up.
Found a really nice earlier tank i want to run with the bulbous two line petcock on the
The right.  Wondering if it will fit?  The tank i am running now i had to do some
Creative routing of the fuel line but other than that its fine. With the right sided petcock tank work as well without touching carbs?

From what I remember the early tanks with the petcock on the right side clear the carbs fine, I have a 72 tank and I've mocked it up on my 77k. It's just a matter getting the fuel line routed nicely iirc and the differences in seat lengths but you already are aware of that.

I think the stock CB750 set up of oil tank battery and all electrical components is perfect and very well designed.

Changing it just makes a lot of problems in the end.
