Topic: What colour HONDA on back of seat?

OK - discussion between my wife and me - we need to paint the Honda logo on the back of a newly recovered Parakeet Yellow F2 CB400F 1978, and need to know if it should be white or silver.

I've only seen it after its been on the seat for 40 years.  Looks like a silverish color

The logos on the 750's were silver, iirc.

There were some Hondas that used gold paint for the letters, just to make it more difficult...
White and silver being more common. The 400F that I've seen used white. 
There were several bikes that had a two tone seat cover and the Honda was in black on a white vinyl. (C70 Passport and others)
Maybe edit the thread title to make it more model specific, adding 400F on the end or "What color/colour HONDA on back of 400F seat?".
MoMo has restored several 400F along the way. PM to him might net an answer...

I'm not familiar with the actual lettering colour on the CB400, but on my CB350F the colouring is a silver with a touch of gold.  I was able to emulate it very accurately on a DOHC 750 by using a vinyl paint from Krylon (42338 Nickel Shimmer).  Here's a picture of what they look like.

I think you will find most everything 70's was silver, I have an original 1973 CL175 as it left the factory, and yes it is silver too, my 400 seat is a brand new straight out of the Honda box silver.
