Stiff handle on CB750 clutch - Clutch adjustment help request.
« on: September 23, 2013, 08:47:48 AM »
A while back I installed a set of heavy duty clutch springs because I had some slippage under heavy acceleration on my 836 geared down 71 K1. Well I never liked the stiff feel to the clutch handle with the heavier springs even though they stopped the slippage. They seemed to grab more than stock too. So I went back to stock springs and stock gearing and to my horror, my clutch is still stiff. I have tried 1/8 and 1/4 turn out of the main clutch screw and a variety of other clutch-handle adjustments but my clutch is still stiff. Why is that. Or maybe I should ask what adjustment causes the clutch to be stiff and how do I make it smooth again like it was?

it may not be an adjustment issue.  I have never found the adjustmen to have any effect on the stiffness of the lever.  I would look at your cable condition and routing.
If it works good, it looks good...

Lube the cable recently? Twists or kinks?
