Photo Update - finally progress
« on: August 17, 2006, 01:08:38 AM »
I finally got the motor back in this afternoon, its only been out about 8 months- nothing drastic just a chance to clean off 30 years of grease and grime, plus give it a spruce up..

I painted the bottom cases with high temp aluminium finish (matt), replacing the external covers as I go with polished ones (when I can afford it), and with nice new stainless hex bolts purchased via this site..

Have not painted the barrels or head, will leave that for a while yet.

Had the valve cover polished.

Here are some photos - not real good ones

Well I have to reduce the photo size first

Try again

I have attacked it with a wire wheel on the end of the drill, and it is going to be sprayed over with the same paint used for the engine cases.

The chrome believe it or not was not too bad, but I think I will try the paint it can only look better

heres a photo of the exhaust as it was..

Hey Mr Breeze,

The stator cover was on the bike when I bought it.

It is a finned cover, BUT it has been down the road a few times by the look of it, has no cracks or splits either..
I am replacing it with another one I picked up recently which will look a lot cleaner that the one in the photo.

I managed to get two old ones and a gear shift cover for $30AU and both stator covers have electrics which tested OK, according to my multimeter anyway.
