Keihin CR26 carbs on CB350F?
« on: September 30, 2013, 06:16:26 PM »
I'm getting conflicting info as I do research. Are CR26 carbs suitable for a CB350F with 4into1 exhaust? Will they really make a difference?

Thanks in advance for the input...

I've got CR26 carbs on my 550 with Stage III head work, Yoshimura Dayton cam, Yoshimura high comp pistons and a Kerker exhaust. Even with all the high performance mods in my engine, these carbs are a pain to get to hold a normal idle. I like them for the performance attributes, but I think they are too much for a smaller displacement street engine.

What are you using it for? I have seen them on a 350 with good results, albeit a very highly tuned 350. I also run them on my 460 and have no problems holding a good idle, it's constant throttle cruising I find they are poorest at. Unfortunately, you did mention conficting opinions!

It's a stock bike that I ride on the street - I'm getting the feeling the CR carbs won't make sense for this set up.

They'll help a bit if you ride it on the street flat out everywhere, otherwise I'd agree you're better off with stock carbs! If you want to be different, you could look into trying ZXR400 CV carbs, there's a thread or 2 about them on here somewhere.
