Oddly enough I worked in medical/tech for a couple years and am very familiar with C.diff and its growing drug resistance. It is a very resilient little guy. It is really REALLY important to finish your course of antibiotics whenever you are prescribed them, it doenst matter if you are feeling better, think you are over it etc, TAKE ALL YOUR PILLS. Years of over prescribed and misused broad spectrum antibiotics have left us with some pretty nasty super bugs. The good news is a lot of the "old classic" antibiotics that used to be effective in the past but are no longer used are starting to be effective again because the pathogens have grown and evolved to fight the newer medications but are unfamiliar with "the basics" essentially.
Just make sure you are working with good doctors with up to date info because it is a really fast moving topic in the medical field and people are doing studies and making breakthroughs all the time!
sending you positive vibes!
Sorry Blac, but unless the "infection/virus" is life threatening then just let your body get rid of it, I've never finished a full course of antibiotics unless it was drip fed to me in hospital. My son has NEVER had antibiotics, My daughter had half a box when she had a knee reconstruction both in their mid 20's and fighting fit, they rarely ever get sick and have strong immune systems, there are far too many antibiotics prescribed these days, as well as your food {meat} being full of them, its no wonder everyone is getting sicker, allergies are on the rise and superbugs are becoming harder to fight, even with break through's in newer drugs, {I've seen some horrific golden staph infections post surgery}. River, get yourself a new doctor mate, mine HATES prescribing antibiotics, unusual considering all the incentives they are given to sell more, or prescribe more drugs, I hate taking any medications, I'm a transplant patient and have to take the immunosuppression meds {luckily only one type} for obvious reasons, but if I didn't have to, I certainly wouldn't take anything... We cook all our food fresh, nothing canned or processed, I love fishing too, so plenty of fresh fish {Filleting is easy, use a very sharp, flexible knife

} , we have farmers markets locally where most of the produce is grown without pesticides, this is all we eat, it helps you stay healthy, none of us are over weight, I'm 17 years post transplant and have not been sick once {from a bug or virus}, I'm highly susceptible to everything being immunosuppressed, all I have to worry about is sun cancers, until they have a cure for that, i'll keep getting them cut out... {without antibiotics}...

By the way, I'm not an anti medication, tinfoil hat fruit loop, conspiracy theorist, drugs are overprescribed, I just think that our immune system is there to deal with these problems and make us stronger, drugs completely inhibit this process most of the time, I do however condone their use if its absolutely necessary....
