Oil problems
« on: September 27, 2013, 09:46:39 PM »
cb750f

My oil level has been all over the place. I put oil in, it spills over the oil tank, and I have oil dripping down the side of the oil tank. I had to take out 2 liters of oil, now I'm at a normal height.

I have two hoses one from the bottom of the oil tank, and the other from the rear of the engine. If I leave the hoses open, they piss oil every where. If I plug them, I get oil leaks in other places.

Here is a starter thread to hopefully show where all your hoses are supposed to go. http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=112274.0

Have you been checking the level when the bike's cold?

The oil can find it's way into the sump after a while on these bikes if they're left standing, so if you top it up then you can end up with too much. If it is overfull, as oil pressure builds the excess will find it's way out of just about anywhere it can.

Always check the oil level when warm, preferably after a decent run, so you know that it has returned to the tank.
