How does this sound to you.
I apologize for being butt hurt over this. believe me when I say I've been dealing with ppl that just can't understand what I'm saying for years. I will also apologize for putting you in the spotlight for this as well. what may have been a joke or whatever . I let my pride over come me instead of letting it go as nothing

You see, your guilty conscience is what got you all butthurt. When I said "If you don't understand how ......" It just happened to come after you made a reply right before that post. It was not directed at you, but to the collective "you" who believe they are a performance advantage. Then you said "so nothing I said makes any sense" or something to that effect about a post I couldn't comprehend whether it was your disability or tapatalk. If you read your 2 posts on a computer and not your phone you may see what I meant by the "did you pass English". You'll also notice a comment from TwoTired about your post that had improper grammar, lack of punctuation and incoherent rambling. Apology accepted, don't take things so personally unless you are called out by name.

I did the k&n pods on me dads 82 GPZ1100 . yes that bike did come with EFI but the system was junk. so we throw a set of carbs at it.I did about 5 hrs of dyno work on it .it did come out a little lean on the low end .but ran great . I see a couple of ppl commented about. how on a winded day the bike would act up a little. I say pods and side covers

Hell yea
That bike was a blast .my dad got it in 82 and race it at are not so local track with his DR350. The sad part is 3days later. he was hit by a city bus .he somewhat walked away. The bike on the other hand was done. That thing got put away back in 86. Because he pull the motor so he could build it up. The plan was to run a bottle and drag race it. Well he got the motor done but never got the bike done. Well Till I got a hold of it in 2010

I bought my '78 CB750 and it came with pods. It ran good, but on windy days or high speeds the throttle band was inconsistent.

Pulled off the pods and checked my jets. Jets were stock. Put on the stock airbox with a K&N filter.

Biggest seat-of-the-pants increase I have done yet on the CB750. It's all consistent now. Felt like it was designed to be that way. Oh wait, it was.

My .02

If your 1978 CB750 came with pods and the jetting was stock, it probably ran terrible and had very poor throttle response. Good thing you put the stock air box back on the bike.

It ran good. I went on a 200 mile trip with it. Just didn't as smooth as now.

My bike ran very smooth with pods.
4 long holidays on wheels. Each holiday 4500-5500km. My bike ran much smoother than my friends original Kawasaki 1000R-1983. No problem keeping up the pace either.  2 holidays during constant heavy raining until we reached Austria. 1800-2000km.

I'm thinking about velocity stacks (inside pods) just to get more power, not that I have any bad experience with pods.

Hahaha, nice. What brand of chain chain did you decide on with the 520? I've got the same 520 sprocket set waiting for my next chain and sprocket replacement, although I don't see the 630 wearing out anytime soon lol.

Not politics but how about some religion:

Perils of a Catholic Upbringing

As I walked down the busy sidewalk with my wife, knowing I was late for Mass my eyes fell upon one of those unfortunate ragged vagabonds that are found in every city these days.

Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would somehow contaminate them.

Recalling my old pastor, Father Mike, who always admonished me to "care for the sick, feed the hungry and clothe the naked", I was moved by some powerful inner urge to reach out to this unfortunate person.

Wearing what can only be described as rags, carrying her treasured worldly possessions in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this person's condition.

Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a true, hidden beauty.

A small voice inside my head called out, "Reach out . . . reach out . . . and touch this person!"

So I Did

So all this talk about pods and velocity stacks has me thinking...I really want pods, haha. But seriously I really do want to clean up the triangle under my seat. I want to relocate/hide the battery and move the electronics flush under the seat and I want to do something with the airbox. What I want to do is something that Bwaller did. Put a K&N filter on the stock air plenum.

You can also see it in K_Kalynuik's build...which looks godly, by the way.

Does anyone think this would cause the problems like pods or v-stacks? I want to get a reverse cone (quiet core) muffler from DimeCityCycles too for my 4-1 headers. I'm aware I'll have to go through the jetting rabbit hole but I'm thinking this is a much more feasible option.

I'd like to get you guys talking about this. Rules: Someone has to LOVE the idea, someone has to HATE the idea and someone needs to cry. Also throw in an Android vs. Apple rant for good measure.

Just some info: I have a '78 550K and I'm not looking for power gains. Just a well running bike that looks cooler. Also, I'm short (5'5"), so making the bike "thinner" between my legs is a huge plus and removing the side covers really helps with that. I just don't want the battery and electrics showing.
