As far as torque and hp charts go, try any dyno facility and you can see many results.
I am not going to run that down for you.
Those charts have been posted on this forum .
From what I understood from your build is that you never could get the 78 "PD" carbs to work well no matter how much time or $ you spent on them which is why you ended up using carbs from a K0. Is this correct? My 77 750F has PD's as well so I guess that means I better be on the look out for K0 carbs too eh?
No that is not correct.
I did get the 1978 carbs to work very well Those were the 1978 carbs in my video I posted.
I decided to use 1969 carbs because I liked them much more and got a very good deal on a set on Ebay for only $100
because the backing plate was missing.
I bought a K2 backing plate which fit perfect.
I liked the 1969 carbs for the following reasons:
1. No choke cable required .
2. The 1969 carbs had a simple flip up/down choke lever.
3. I could change all of the jets without removing the carbs from the motorcycle.
4. The 1969 carbs weighed much less without lifter arms and connecting shafts.
5. The 1969 carbs can have the slides removed for needle position changes
without removing the carbs from the engine.
6. All adjustments on the 1969 carbs can be done without burning your hands
because they are conveniently located.
7. The float bowls on the 1969 carbs come off easily with a spring clip. No screws!
It was extra work changing to the 1969 carbs but the pay off was all
of the above mentioned advantages.
I have rebuilt every model of CB750 carbs. But I think the 1969-70 carbs are the best of all.
