This makes me feel sick on multiple levels, this could have all been avoided if dummies weren't acting dumb.  :-\

Officer I  felt my life and wife's life was threatened so I made sure that I whittled down the pack after all I'm an old man so I couldn't have fought that many.

Pack mentality is/was stupid and dangerous.
RR driver was right to fear for his life.
The guy in the hospital  was part of this yet, doesn't deserve to be paralyzed for life.
A guy dives into the lake, hits his head and is paralyzed for life.
Life is unfair.
A good friends daughter was killed two weeks ago in Nelson BC.
Jeep crossed the yellow, head on into her car. Right in front of the fire station.
Life is unfair.

There is a very good movie by Fritz Lang called "M". Puts 90% of whats made today to shame.
Made in mid to late 20's, silent and B & W.
Peter Lorre plays a child killer, which brings the police down on ALL the criminals in the city.
Thieves Guild decides to deal with the problem themselves.

When the cops start cracking down on all groups of riders.
I could see the certain groups of riders dealing with this themselves.

Long thread on Reddit about this. Pretty consistent across the boards that these guys were dicks.

I know that stretch of road well as I drive it often. It has lot of traffic and a lot of aggressive driving going on there. It leads in and out of Manhattan and I am sure most of you would not enjoy the drive or ride. I can see how a Car could piss off people on bikes and vice versa, everyone is pissed off on that road.
There is a rally in front of the Hospital for the Biker that was run over. They put him in a coma due to serious internal injuries. They want the driver charged with something for probably killing this guy.
How many times have you had the urge to pull a guy out of a car and beat his ass for something he did to you while riding? We do not have the back story, only the NYPD might right now. Only one Biker has been charged and that was some traffic infractions.

I think it is a shame and a cluster #$%* on all levels. Now the NYPD and every local yokel Cop will be cracking down on bikes.

From boston.com regarding his driving record...

"Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Registry records show that Mieses applied for a learner’s permit in 1999 and 2000, but that he never obtained a full license because he failed to pay fines imposed after he was ticketed for speeding in Lawrence in 1999. His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show."

you can get ticketed 16 times with no license?!

Regardless of who started it what motorcyclist is stupid enough to get into an argument with someone in an SUV...or any car for that matter.   I saw one part of the video where one of the riders with a passenger maybe wife or girlfriend, and he was right in the thick of it.  Sorry, I just don't have any sympathy for the injured...they brought it all on themselves by their stupid behavior.

There is always the chance, but I would think it would be very low considering the type of behavior evidenced in the helmet cam of the hollywood squidz.  I can only assume, but I bet the guy was riding down the highway with his family when a swarm of bikers haphazardly began swerving in and out of cars and over took his vehicle.  Maybe he didn't see them at the time due to the fact that they were driving irregularly through lanes and tried to get over and went into a lane where a squid was because he was riding in his blind spot.  They then precede to surround his vehicle where one pussy #$%* decides in his temporary, mob-induced, hyper-masculine state of mind to brake check a 2 ton vehicle with a 350 pound bike.  After getting hit, the Range Rover is surrounded and, fearing for his families safety, the driver guns it through the mob but is then followed and mercilessly beaten by the pack of #$%*es who put on their bad-boy biker hats for the weekend.

The side I take may be obvious, but I think Matlock would be proud of my synopsis. 8)

In general the attitude of many drivers on the hwy's today is very bad and that's a big problem. These people think they are #1 and its all about them and no one else matters. The hwy belongs to them. How dare you get in my way or make me have to slow up. Don't you know who I am. This is my road and Im late for work or I got to pick up the kids or I've got to get to the store to get a gallon of milk, etc, etc, etc. I'll shoot you the rod and call you ever name it the book through my windshield and blow my horn for all its worth, because it makes me feel big and powerful. Or in the case of this video and the same mentality. Me and my other 200 buddies on our bikes are going to take over this section of hwy and interrupt traffic so we can do crazy and stupid stuff on our bikes because no one else matters and it is our hwy and its all about us.

Considering that 99% of people already sympathizes with this guy. The fact the video and the other video's recorded that day indicate complete disregard for public safety, let alone their own safety, you can bet his statement will be tailored for the situation. Personally it provides very little value.

Bikers were in the wrong, they put themselves and this family in a poor situation and two individuals got injured for it. They then escalated the situation by perusing vengeance for their poor choices. On top of it all they recorded it and were dumb enough to post it on youtube. #easydecision #nosympathy

The discover of Mieses driving recorded above has more value at this point then the RR drivers well thought out statement.

I lived in New Haven for many years, this is all too common there. Gangs of punks on stolen dirt bikes terrorizing the downtown streets. Cops are afraid to do anything because they are all underage.

This is why I'd rather associate with you guys - guys that wrench on our bikes, guys that have an appreciation for the machine.  You'll never hear about a bunch of guys on vintage bikes doing stuff like this.

When I bought my sportbike I became a member of a sportbike forum.  Never again.  The guys on those forums are just a different breed, not my kind of people.

I've joined the bike forum in my town.  I went to a couple of meets.

98% of everyone is on sport bikes. You'll get maybe one or two people that take interest in what you're riding, but I feel out of place every single time I go. It's just...weird...kids basically. Reminds me of being 16 years old again and you get that sense that there's an overwhelming amount of egos everywhere.

Not to say that they are bad or anything. But I get the same feeling...just not my kind of place and seems driven by a lot of testosterone.

My wife's nephew has a Busa and for him it's all about bragging rights. His is modified so the more go fast goodies it has the cooler he looks at least that what he thinks. The irony is that he's never had it on a road course for a track day or at a drag strip and never plans to either mainly because he's afraid he'll get spanked by a lesser bike ridden by a better rider. He does however stay away from any stunt riding.

My wife and I rode with our youngest son to a drag strip last weekend. I most definitely would've had my F2 on the track with him if I knew I wouldn't be blowing every other shift, I'll take care of the transmission issues over the winter though. ;) It really did suck watching him and his cbr have all the fun while I sat in the stands watching.

Lester imo you are off base here.... Not every teenager acts like this..... I would say less then 1 percent of the teenager population would act like this.... In regard to Ekpent's comment I am pretty sure he has no ill will toward any race...

Societies differ from place to place.... Not trying to throw stones but your comment of calling people coloured can be taken wrong... It's all how one is brought up and how each individual interprets language... I took no offense to your wording but others may...

Anyways I think the consensus is the bikers are in the wrong no matter what race or socioeconomic class they may be in.
