I think most of us don't realize that movie makers don't target their productions to old farts like us, but to youngsters full of testosterone. I have to admit I willingly paid the ticket to see things like "The last dragon", "Karate Kid" (and the sequels), "American Ninja" (and the sequels), The punisher, and many more.

It is pointless to make movies for adults. They don't have the time to go to the theater anyway...

And, what's wrong with making a "Miami Vice" movie? or Mission:Impossible? Or S.W.A.T?  People who will go are too young to know the original ones, so for them they will be better than the original, because we tend to think that the "original" is the first one we know. For me, "Superman" will always be Christopher Reeve, but Batman will always be Michael Keaton. I can stand that seventies Batman, with no muscles and such crappy FX's...

I'll second that.  A kid (26) I work with doesn't even know who Led Zepplin is.  When listening to the Doors one day he said wait, wait, I know this one it's the Lizard King, it's Morrison, Jim or Van.  I just shook my head.

I've actually been told that by people that know me. All of my friends are 27+ years old. I can't stand the immature bickering and pissing contests kids get into. The older guys get into the occasional pecker contest, too, but not nearly as often.

LOL I'm listening to Iron Butterfly's In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida right now! Listen to The Doors, Heart, Foreigner, Yes, The Eagles, The Doobie Brothers, and too many others from that "era" to name.

LOL, I don't think so... I'm not the kind of person to try to follow the "in" thing. I've always enjoyed jeans, boots, and a tee shirt; crew-cut.

I know it can't be better than Talladega Nights  :)

Now I know that this entire thread is a wind up.

FWIW I too think Tremors (numero uno) was a cool film.

Hollywood just goes for the buck these days with crappy remakes like the bad news bears! They try to clean it up which kills the movie.  It would be like trying to clean up Archie Bunker.

I had to laugh one day at work.We listen to a classic rock station out in the shop and they played Barracuda by Heart. This kid thats been there a couple of months(he's about 23) asks me if its Janis Joplin!!!! Then about a week later a kid that busted tires for 4 days before getting canned asked me who was playing the song on the radio(it was Guns & Roses-Paradise City). So I tell him its G&R and he goes....Oh,I though they were a country band!!!!!

Just got back from seeing it again.

It was even better the second time.

I'm gonna see it again two or three times tomorrow and two or three more times on Sunday.

This movie is the greatest film in history...

I Can't Wait For The Sequel, "SNAKES ON A HONDA FOUR" ;D

As far as my generation being stupid about music- I was listening to The DOORS "Riders on the Storm" In My car while delivering pizza and one of the other drivers, my age, walked up to me and said with complete sincerity,

"Hey, They coppied off Snoop Dog."

I should have chased him down with a tire iron.

that's hilarious dude - i had the same thing happen to me the other day - i was listening to Cyprus Hill on the radio and this little kid, probably about 8 or 9 said, "hey man, you listenin' to blahblahblah(some rapper)", and i said, "no who's that?" and he totally got this scorn look on his face and said, "that's who that music came from!"

little twit.  :D

I just watched it last night.  Not a huge "cult classic" fan, but I had a huge smile on my face almost the entire time.  Deffinately worth seeing at the theatre.
