don't know if I should clear coat my lower shocks after I am done polishing them or just go ahead an pain them black.  Removed the factory clear and man what a difference.   I like the way the black looks on the lower shocks especially on the 550S but I'm torn between the two.  I will say though that the black does make the chrome fender pop a bit more. Let me know what you think or have done in the past.

I am a castrated dude; I clearcoat everything. Rear shocks, front shocks, fenders, springs, even my rims, spokes, and hubs.  ;D

If it is your lower fork cases you are thinking of painting, then it is my opinion that it is a waste of time...because brake fluid is a very effective paint stripper and when you assemble/bleed your front caliper, it will drip all over everything...
