I have a cold weather Cortech jacket and a mesh Cortech jacket for the days that sizzle.  Those Cortech jackets are bomber and super comfortable, plus they look great.  I got mine off of eBay for a great price - New!  When I was riding my sportbike, I dressed in a Cortech jacket, Cortech pants (mesh), my Alpinestars S-MX Plus boots and felt totally comfortable and safe.  Good gear makes a huge difference.

Here in Vegas, I prefer light colors, including helmet. Even vented shirts but in freeway speeds, leather is the best protection.
Personally I like to see people ride naked but that's only recommended for good shaped beautiful girls. Bikini is an option. I actually saw several young bikini-clad girls riding scootes. Nice.

Yesss not so nice with gravel rash though I bet...!!  I even feel unsafe when I ride in jeans these days I'm so used to riding in biking gear.

A local rider just died over the weekend after he spilled his bike into a culvert.  He was wearing a protective jacket and boots, but no helmet.  Seriously what was he thinking?

I see a lot of “cruiser” bikers wearing their leathers and boots -  minus a helmet.  Since PA went the helmet optional route, the motorcycle death rate has climbed to its highest rate ever.

hmmm... what does it take to convince these "free spirits" that helmets save lives?

You'll never convince someone:

who thinks that it's an infringement of his/her rights to make them wear a helmet

who thinks that certain types of helmets (full face) will cause more injury than others

Hmmm.  If you're riding witouth a helmet and some protective clothing and feel perfectly safe.....You're either very stupid, or driving way too slow.

I'm not sure that the riders who make that kind of choice are stupid. I believe it's more a case that they probably have never had an accident, or seen the effects of an accident, and therefore think that it will "never happen to me".

Once a person has had gravel scrubbed out of their extremities or hit their head on something hard, the realisation will sink in. If they then continue to ride without appropriate gear, then I would consider them to be a few bricks short of a load.

At the moment, i would be glad, the weather would hit the 100 degrees.
Then I would think about it.

I wear a Brazilian cut thong for those extra special rides to the grocery store.  Gets me through the lines faster... ;D  The only problem is the chaffing on the hot seat after it's been sitting in the hot California sun   :o

Er, that's........ very nice mate, (forcing out the mental picture creeping me out as I type this) that bike of yours (in your avatar) looks magnificent, how about a bigger pic? ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

You guys.....I admire your optimism. No matter how hard I try, whatever the temperature, I just cannot bring myself to ride without 'the gear' on...
