If you've got space to store the bike where it will be unmolested, keep it. If you figure that you will only get a few hundred dollars for it intact you might as well hang on.

As others have said, there is no way of knowing how the future will affect the value of these bikes. Personally i can only but believe that as things get scarcer they will be more valuable with time.

Doesn't matter.

As long as it's complete and intact, do the necessary to minimise your woes when it is time to start again (drain the carbs, empty the tank and slosh some oil around inside it, change the oil etc, etc, etc), park it and forget it until it's time to start again.

My 77 didn't look like that either when I bought it, and it's still shy a few bits to get there, but the point is that you own a bike that will probably always be worth as much or more than what you paid for it...

if you store it for the next 20 years,start buying maintanence parts now.in 20 years most of that stuff will be gone.

Thanks.... That was the first post I've ever read in my life,all the while wandering if I should take my newly acquired 77 550 k into my basement for "A" winter rebuild... Scheech . Can someone please talk me back into it ??? ???
