Trying to identify "odd" Honda
« on: August 26, 2006, 01:21:56 AM »
Hi,
I apologize for this post not being about a Single Overhead Cam 4 but I'm running out of places to look. I'm trying to identify a bike I picked up a few years back.
The frame numbers are " B160-1072439 " The engine number is " B160E-1072238 ".
It is a Honda but as you can see the numbers do not start with a "C".
The frame number is stamped on the neck and there is no tag that shows the year. I would guess it is somewhere in the early 60's or even the late 50's.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's what it sounds like and they made different versions of it as well. I think they made a CA version and I know they made a CL model The one ibsen posted, looks like a small version of the CB77 Super Hawk and is a pretty good little runner on it's own. And a picture of it would certainly clarify things.

Hi all,
Thanks for all the replies.
In searching eBay I did find one that has a serial number starting with "B", http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190022470963&fromMakeTrack=true

So I guess that is what it is. Now to determine the year. I'll try to dig it out today (it's behind five other bikes) and get a picture.
This one is blue and in not so good condition.

Yeah, I've known a few who have had the CB160 and never had anything bad to say about them. They just got to the point that they wanted something bigger, that's all. Go for it!
