I would love to ski up there sometime... I'm on the Ski Patrol down here, and Mt. Bohemia keeps advertising for patrollers to come up there and patrol for a week, expenses paid!

Yup. It lives up to the hype. No beginners. They ain't kidding.

I've been to Utah and some Tahoe area resorts. Bohemia is similar to the below-treeline skiing in the Sierra Nevada. Runs aren't nearly as long as out west, but waaaay longer than anything else around here. Lot's of top-shelf glade riding, natural quarter pipes, ravines, rock/cliff drops, steeps. Takes a multi-day visit to cover it all.

Like anywhere, snow depth and quality depends on timing and luck, but the odds are good and the stakes aren't as high as when you buy a trip out west.

Here's a guess: patrollers probably aren't real busy. Don't think there is any O.B.
Accidents are probably few but serious.

DO IT man!  You won't regret it.

Actually, I was going to a few years ago, but didn't, when I remembered a trip East (Sunday River, ME. Kicks ass!) when I couldn't walk up the stairs the morning after skiing for a day! The thought of doing that for a whole week was daunting! BUT, this year, I'm going to get into incredible shape BEFORE skiing starts! (???) It was frustrating this year, The second to last week of skiing (we just closed last week), all of a sudden, my legs felt great at the start of the day.. no warm up, no nuthin'! I'd love just once to start the year that way, and just build on it.
Ski Patrol is a gas.. I can ski whenever I want, and the people are really a bretheren... there's also that thing about helping people. We're trained to an "EMT Basic" level, which means that we do most everything but administer drugs... kinda like developing a "super Power"!

Yeah ... only out there on Thursdays to DJ. And been drivin' the car to carry the gear. At's a'ight though. Been cleaning up the dirty rat a little bit this spring (spring?) doing the swingarm and a few other things this week+end anyway. ... but knowin' it'll be tight is worth the wait. Got a hundy miles in the other day before parking it for this next little clean up phaze.

Anyone interested in a weekend ride up here this summer?
I have property in the country, lot's of room for camping and not to far to hotels.
Anyway, I know alot of good roads up here and would be happy to host it.

Hey Guys,

I'm living in Ann Arbor full-time now. Last summer I also got my wife to buy a bike (we have two '83 CB650SC Nighthawks).

It'd be fun to have an Ann Arbor meetup sometime soon. Maybe 2 weeks from now (30/31 May 2009 weekend), is anyone interested?

I already posted over in the Projects forum (http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=51781.0), but I'm trying to find tires & a shop in Ann Arbor. Please let me know what local shops you like.

Thanks,
Francis

I just read through about 20 pages of in state motorcycle phototag at Sport-Touring.  Looks like fun, been to a lot of the east side places, just a few of the west side spots. But I dont cover nearly as much ground as I used to, and none of it at triple digit speeds. :o Maybe in Canada, eh? 8)
