I'm going to try to get there on a red '76 CB750, if I can get the front tire changed.

Bummer!   :(  That's the same day as Ernie's vintage sportbike party down near Spring Arbor.  My group and I are riding our CB100/125's down there (weather permitting) as a fun ride.  It'll take a bit longer than it has in the past but will be a real hoot.  Last year a group of riders showed up on some mopeds/scooters.  They had ridden from the east side of the state somewhere.  You guys have a great time!   ;)

My wife and I plan to go. If things go well, I'll be riding the new CA95 I got. If not, I'll be riding the black CB750 K3. She will be on either her '78 550K or her '74 CB360T. I'll post our bike status closer to the event.

Yeah, seems to be. Me, I've now got to fix an oil leak (if it's not one damn thing, it's another)...but I'm gonna try and be there. If anybody's passing through Ann Arbor and feels like riding up together, drop a line...

Hey Chris-

Is your wife coming along too on her scoot? It looks like I might have the Benly ready to ride by then, maybe her seeing it will get her to come over to the "dark side" of motorcycles.  ;) ;D

hadn't asked her yet, but she's digging riding it so maybe.
i'd have to choose a pretty tame route up--under 60mph--but it's pretty easy to manage that.

the benly's comming along nicely then?

The Benly is coming along. I have it running and took it for a quick ride up and down the street to try it out. All that's left is to replace the speedo cable, get a headlight, grips and a few other misc. bits (which I finally found a supplier for!) and fix a slow leak in the petcock body. I just hope to get a bit of riding time in with it before Holly so I can work out any kinks before the long ride...

The easiest "tame" route is to head up Woodward Ave. to Pontiac where it loops around. Then hop on US-24/Dixie Highway and take that North to Holly Road. Then follow Holly road straight into town. Takes a bit under an hour.

Hey guys, I too have been out of commision for about a week, and finally got on today and saw that our thread was still on the front page! And add to that, you guys have actually firmed up a date to mett, and are riding in in attack formation! This is great!
Now, I'm really tempted to blow off my committments and come over! If I do, it will be at the last second...what do you think, about four hours from GR to Holly? If Bruce is going, I can ride with him...Bruce, do you think that can be done in one day?
Whatever happens, take a lot of pictures so we can post them!

We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

 Chris,
I am still planning on it. It is still kinda touch and go though. 125 miles each way is not all that much, really. I have put over 4000 miles on the 650 this year, and I did not even start riding until June. I guess you could say that I have been pretty much living on the seat of the bike. Some weekends I was putting on a couple hundred miles at a time. I like motorcycles, a lot, probably to much.

if you google for "rally in battle alley" you get a link to here...funny

also some pics from last year
and a brief description on vjmc.com

The Holly, MI Chamber of Commerce is hosting their fall “Rally in Battle Alley” vintage bike display. The streets in their downtown district will be closed to traffic, just the two or three wheeled motorbikes are allowed in. The VJMC will have a designated area for club members to display their bike(s) of choice. All VJMC members are encouraged to ride (or trailer) out and enjoy a wonderful display of Vintage motorcycles. Check the Michigan activities page for further details.

That looks awesome! We'll see....I can just see the reaction when a huge together bunch shows up! You should establish a meeting spot and time.

I didn't see one oldschool Honda in there.

This is why we gots to represent, homes. Represent. Come blazin' into town, all top-end noise and exhaust rarfle. Make the kids think that their "rock" and their "roll" is passe', or somesuch.
