The supplied mounting bracket is a straight piece of metal that doesn't match up with the mounting points. The metal of the mounting bracket is pretty soft and can be bent easily. The coupling area is shorter then stock which means couple more inches of the header are exposed. To my surprise the sound is almost stock at idle, just a little deeper. There is a pleasant building growl with RPM. I was afraid the muffler would sound raspy or ricey or like a HD on straight pipes..but I like it, just a little more aggressive sounding then stock. Have no idea how well it'll hold up but it's a decent replacement and saves my OE muffler.

I was not familiar with Macs before building my cafe but, I'll never buy another set of them. Mine fit alright but it's obvious these things are made of cheese. Mine are starting to rust at the joint between the muffler and the mounting tab and at the tip. Exhaust has been on the bike for about four months; has never been wet; and has been cleaned and polished frequently. The exhaust is crap.

My first set I've had for 16 years.   Been wet rain wash snow once.  Normal wear and tear but  no rust.  Atleast 30k miles on it.

I like the look of it and your comments about the sound. What is the Part No./Model No. of the muffler as my F2 is in need of one. Thanks, Pat from Aust

Mine have started to rust too, but I'm going to put some John Deere header paint on them (black of course  ;D)

I've been told that the paint will practically bond with the metal almost like a powdercoat.
