Titty grips and rubbers...
« on: August 23, 2006, 11:13:41 AM »
 :-X

I have been looking for good grips to replace what I have now, and looking back in the forum I kept seeing references to 'titty grips', and finally found out what they are.
If anyone is interested this fellow seems to have a lot of NOS titty grip 7/8'' for $12usd shipped. Im sure you ebay-aholics have been all over this but he says they are NOS and he has several CASES of them.

Now JCWhitney has them as well, but they arent NOS and Im not sure why but some members seemed to complain their 'titty grips' were too squishy from JCW. Weird.

Also, I bought 550/650 intake 'rubbers' and specifically asked (number 1 mistake) the seller if they would indeed fit the 550, needless to say what Ive got is too big. So my rubbers dont fit. These will probably be going up for sale on here for cheap, so any 650 guys interested give me a shout.

I've only ever seen those grips on old English iron, circa late '60s and early '70s. Never seen any on Japanese bikes....

'titty grips' were too squishy

I prefer my grips and my tittys firm however they do get squishy with time.

Ahh NickJTC you are right! I ASSumed they went on our bikes, not period correct after all!

RxmanGriff they do get squishy with time, but that just means they are more comfortable. Wait, the grips right? What?...

DGFischer the Tomasselli grips are way cool(er)!! I think Im sold.

Glad to see everyone is mature enough not to 'squeeze' in saying 'titties' as many times as they can in one post. Get it? Sq... never mind.

It's a pity that they don't make heated grips in this style. Wait a minute....I suppose you could always wrap those foil ones around the bars before fitting the grips themselves....??

Wellll, I don't know how to do the link thing. I mostly use Progrips model 714 as found in Parts Unlimited.  Someday, I want to get the guts to get the lime green ones

The rubbers are indeed 79/80, caveat emptor right? I got so excited to find good condition boots that I believed the title "cb 550/650" and didnt use my brain to figure they wouldnt fit!

If you are interested PM me

If the rubbers are made by Trojan just use the damn things for inner tubes.
