just a hello
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:43:50 PM »
Just posting to say hello.  I found this forum while searching for specs and wiring diagrams and found exactly what I needed.  I just got my second CB750 as a gift and although it is currently not running, it has been in a garage for more than 10 years and the bike looks great.  This is my second CB750, and I have owned a 305 scrambler and a CB450 in the past.  As soon as I get the bike home I will post some pictures, and will update as I get it running.  The engine currently does not turn, so step one is to pull the plugs and use the old bore scope to see what is stuck.  Its a 73 K model with a touring seat, but other than that its all stock.  My old one was a 75 and I can't see anything different.

It looks the same as a 75K but there are little differences like the petcock on the other side ,badges different, etc. Welcome to the site and good luck with getting it going....you're in good hands here!!!!

just got her home, and of course its worse than I thought.  Hasn't run since 1983.  Engine stuck tight.  1 small dent in tank, choke lever will not move, brake are broke, 4 into 2 exhaust, homemade sissy bar, throttle stuck, and wiring is cut in several places.  On the plus side, I now have a clymers manual (with colour diagrams), the seat is perfect and the side covers are not cracked.  And most importantly its all here in one piece w/clear title.  Will take pictures tomorrow, and try to post over the weekend.  Hope to ride next year.

Welcome. Though my engine was not locked, mine sat in the garage since '82 before I tackled it. You can do it. There will be frustrations along the way, but great satisfaction in the end. Good luck, look forward to the pics and keep us posted on progress.
