Latest Find CB350-F0!
« on: October 08, 2013, 07:25:16 PM »
Just picked this up last Saturday. I was hooked the minute I discovered the exhaust was intact and had no rot! There is a fair amount of surface rust, though. I'm going to change the oil, check all the tune-up bits, throw a battery in and try firing this thing up. I was trying to search the site for some threads I read on different ways of treating chrome to remove rust. Didn't find much - anyone got any links on this?

That could be a very nice bike.  Subscribed.  Are you going to stay stock?

Nice find!

Nothing abrasive if possible. Vinegar. NevrDull. WD40. If it's more than surface deep good luck.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Greggo > Yeah, I'm a bit of a purist, so I won't be doing custom ANYTHING on this bike. It is going to have to go in the queue after the current project (a '71 CB750-K1 - also stock resto), but I'm anxious to hear it run even if I have to wait to make it pretty...

RXman > Yeah, those options all sound familiar. Fortunately, the exhaust looks like it will clean up nicely (not like the crap they hang on new bikes, like the easily yellowed pipes on the new CB1100). The pieces that are roughest are the rims, fenders, rear shocks and the headlamp ring. The handlebars are totally corroded!
