RE: Fun with Tank Stripes

So I had some fun putting on tank stripes today on a K2 tank.  Much thanks to Tango911 for hooking me up with these awesome stripe sets.

If you decide to do this make sure you check out the video below.  He does a good job, but the thing that helped me the most is the heat gun to help separate the transfer tape from the decal.

You don't need an ocean of water like I used the first time.  Quick pic.  Didn't see the air bubble before pic.  It's gone now.

Thanks Tango!

Ok after 3 coats of 2k clear over the stripes.  I am pretty happy with the outcome.

No, but I cut the tank with 1000 grit and just tacked off the striped before clearing.  Could not be happier.

I just can't stop staring at it.  I must have 6 coats of clear on this tank.

I watched that same video when I put the stripes on my K1!

Paint I used didn't want to me to put the clear on at two different times so I just put the decals on top, like Honda did.  Still looks good after almost a year.

Great feeling indeed.  I can see why the pros get so much as there is more than meets the eye.
