Topic: 400 F tank on 750 F frame

I tried an early 500 tank, way too much work, the 400 fits much closer. The only real interference is the two lower edges at the rear of tank, either side of mounting tab.
 I tried a seat or two. I think the flattrack one cut off just forward of the shock with proper seat base, would look really good but needs a hoop bent to go under outer edge of fender. At the front it would have a downward bend lining up with the diagonal frame member that runs from shock to motor mount area.

Anyone have a pic of the 400 frame mount for rear of tank, and the rubber piece?

very cool Frank the flattrack seat is my fave my 360 tank hangs up at the same spot but it is nothing that cant be overcome with a little tweaking of the tank and rails.gonna make my own mounting rubber and bolt to go through frame at back.do you think you will have to move fuel bung?looks good on the 750 frame!bill

I think the fuel bung may be fine its male thread type  Right now bottom of tank is parallel and covers the two lower frame rail. I wish I had a motor in it to check petcock clearance. The tank is a very good fit, the back will probably come down another inch.  I think I could make that fender, with proper seat area out of aluminum, would look very cool.

mine is male thread also but when the petcock is mounted it hits the webers so going to move it forward and plug hole .in my case the tank will need to be flattened a little bit to go down further would kind of like it to be parallel with frame tubes.then a thin seat something like jdnovas .let them webers be seen!bill

If you have male thread, might be able to make a 90 degree adaptor to the small petcocks with red handle or maybe a Pingel petcock.

Yes that is what I wanted, I assume the rubber is not in place in first pic?

No it's not. My rubber is all torn out but this is what it looks like installed.

yeah I was thinking right angle but haven't got that far making bushings for swingarm bronze to reduce from 16 to 14mm.ithink the fuel bung is just pipe thread?bill

 I will have some frame hoop kits ready by end of next week, will have one or two to sell.
 Will weld to frame and fit fender style shown in first pic.
