At 0400 hrs. this morning I found a set of mufflers in very nice condition but $400 was a little steep for me. After inhaling rotten gas I went into the house for coffee. Thought I would check again.

Good news. Lowered price to $300.
Bad news. Already sold.  :(

So, I can clean up the left. The right needs some work. The muffler it's self is fine but the thin chrome skin has seen it's better days.

This hole is small enough to fill.



This is not. I was thinking I could use the skin off an old muffler and cover this somehow. I know, not the best it could look but it does sit on the bottom hidden buy the rear peg mount bracket.



Any thoughts or ideas? Still shopping for a right muffler which can be swapped out at a later date.

$300 for  a decent set of mufflers -- damn!   We both missed out.
I may have even jumped on them for $400 had I been looking this morning.

Without getting to deep you say that this could in fact be fixed?

If feasible I would need to clean on the rest of the muffler first and see what it really looks like.

It could be fixed with the microwelding but I think it would be cost prohibitive if you passed on mufflers for 400

Those mufflers were only on flea bay for a few hours. I'll have to do something else.

If I would of seen the $100.00 drop I would of been all over them.  ;)

Still waiting on a huge parts order for both bikes so I just keep cleaning on the CB350G. At least when I get to it everything will be here.

I had soaked the cylinders with some Mystery Oil when the spare bike was delivered. Since things are basically on hold thought I would remove the alternator cover and give it a whirl. The engine was stuck.

No effort needed. Just a little bump on the breaker bar and she took a spin.  ;D

Using just a few parts off it but probably will sell at some point. If I was smart I would keep it for parts.  ;)

Undecided but plenty of time to think on it.

No parting out this one. I have seen some nice ones on flea bay however.

The seat is not correct but everything else is there including the battery box area.  ;)

Time to start on the rear wheel. I'm going to attempt this on my own.  ::)

I have done a couple of searches and a few are no longer available. (that I wanted to read)

Here is the wheel. Is this the 4 cross over that I have read?



Since nothing is worth saving thought I would just use bolt cutters and make it quick.

John,  I always called that a cross 2-as one outer crosses over two of the inner on the same side or one inner crosses under two outers. Nomenclature could be wrong but that is the general idea....Larry

This sounds so confusing but reading other threads on this you just have to figure it out.

I decided to take a little extra time and save the spokes. Never know, might need them.



Gave the hub a little cleaning. I don't want to over polish it.



Started to unwrap the new rim and while holding in my hand it seemed wider.  ::)



And sure enough..







I have an email into David Silver as I talked with someone there before ordering. (Mick I believe)

I used a caliper and got the following.

Stock: 2.344 inches. (outside)
New DID 2.773 inches. (outside)

My question is will these work being a little wider?

I would imagine this is the only choice I have as far as width. Looking at the width of the edge it does appear to be wider.
