It's all good. After all the CB160 is an odd ball bike.

If anybody can supply me with torque specs I would appreciate it immensely. I have two service manuals each with little torque specs.

I kind of like knowing things are properly tightened. I do have the general specs but doubt they are correct. Conflicting numbers as discussed in previous replies. Can't find a PDF file either.

Sorry, I don't have torque specs, as I've likely got the same manuals as you.

How is your speedometer gasket/seal?    I need several, and haven't found a source of new ones.

Please let me know if you get a line on some.

Look at the rear axle spec. Can't be that much.

That page comes right out of the manual supposedly from Honda that I have a PDF copy of.  It has some obvious errors with alignment of some of the figures, and as for the rear axle...I just tighten them a bunch by hand.  You should be able to judge what is enough and what would be too much.  I know it sounds skeptical, but actually I can often "feel" the very start of metal stretching which is no further that you would normally want to go.   For a bolt as large as the axle, that "feel" would likely never be found.

In a previous post I said "don't ask, don't tell but Nooo, you guys can't leave it alone can you? Nope, you just gotta ask huh?

Well, OK. When assembling the left fork I dropped the lower on the bench. Yes, I had towels down but you know Murphy's Law don't you? Missed it completely, scratched the shid out of it. Three week delay because for a week it was to cold to paint in Winslow,AZ. 

Well, it's redone now just waiting to get it. Mike is bringing it down on the train next trip. Carburetors will be done real soon. (I was told)

So there! Now you know the rest of the story.

Yeah, had it in my hand less than two hours. All fixed now but Mike said it was deep.

No worries. Feels good to get away from bikes for three weeks. Actually been riding and my hands are healed again.

I rode the CBX then came home and rode the CA78. Now there is an extreme.

Yeah, grip that tank with your knees and hold on versus, swivel around on the seat to enjoy the view as you pass the world slowly...well, maybe not that slow.

I think riding a slow bike makes you appreciate the experience. Kind of like cross country trips open-wheel versus in a cage. Different experience as the world is opened up so much more. The drop top convertible is close to MC experiences.
You should ride the CA95 with it's single carb to experience, are we moving yet...

Got the latest issue of Motorcycle Classics, very cool magazine if you haven't read an issue.

ToyTuff, was not prying for you to spill the beans I was just trying to catch up. We all have those moments and they are painful, didn't mean for you to spill beans you didn't want to reveal. Speaking of beans, had a good slow cooker pot of beans with a bone from a country ham...it is tasty. I make a mean cornbread that is very tasty too.   Fixed some fried pork rice with some of the left over ham from Christmas. My mom gave my aunt Helen a country ham for Christmas and since I'm staying with her my sodium is up as we have enjoyed it with breakfast several days. Took a break this morning and had some Cheerios with a banana.  Hurt my back over the weekend and have been taking it easy to let the back heal.  They are calling for 1-3 inches of snow here in higher elevations...we will probably see snow that stays a while if it does drop some. Had a hard frost this morning that didn't melt off up near the house or in the bushes and high grass near areas in the shadow of the woods that my aunt's house is adjacent to.  Ridgeline is probably 50 feet higher than the roof of the two story house. Property goes up to the ridgeline.  Popular trees mostly with some oaks.
Glad you have gotten some good riding in, good time of year there to do it...

After a three (3) week delay due to a Senior Moment the front end is done! Yippie!   

New seals, copper gaskets and lower fork bolts with fresh oil.



Had the other half holding the fender in place so as to mount the front wheel and associated brake parts.



The clearance is close due to a 2.75/18 tire. Stock was a 2.50/18. With the rims being wider and a zero offset when lacing the wheel I was a bit concerned.

I think it will be fine. Don't want to disassemble and risk any damage.
