Around our necks of the woods the road commission get a little agitated about certain types of mailbox mounting systems. They want them to collapse easily so as to cause less damage if they get hit.

I make mine so damn tough they tare the crap out of the car of the dumb ass driver ::) like I care about his car >:(

What if the car that hits it is a person that has a medical problem?
What if the car that hits it has children in the car?
What if the car that hits it slipped on the icy roadway?
What if it is a motorcycle rider that is young and stupid.

Ha! Well played Lucky.  Have you ever heard of Joseph Beuys? White Orbs could have put parts of the frame into a sleigh and told us all a story of how it saved his life.

I think its great! Could you please do another cut and trace a contour for me? This surgery will save future 750 frames from cutting. Details...... in a bit.

Lucky - "art is the creating of something useless" - Andy Warhol ...so the frame is already art.

Be glad to. The frame was junk as it had no title and there was no way to attain one.
I cut it because I had no use for it and it was a very mass produced frame. It slid right apart. I cut it on its side on the cusion. Nothing gets wasted,I recycle everything . This reminds me that some people cannot understand how others
think and right away deem it ridiculous .Dont be so quick to judge good people.

As for the other frame it was cut so close to the neck and tje joint on the other end rhis was just easier to accomplish.
Frame is structurally sound now and thats what we were after. Had no idea this would wad so many panties.

Just made mine worth more thanks. BTW who cares? I wouldn't do it but that's just me.  I cut up a wrecked one to repair an old one. So, who am I to point the finger of shame? I have lots of questions and  few answers.

I dont see how . I have known some extremely immature
People in the 40's amd 50's and I have known very serious and mature 20 and 30 somethings. Not always the make but the mileage as well. My eyes are brown and I havent always lived in america if that helps. Another totally useless fact ,I really enjoy tinkering with old japanese motorcycles. I do because they are cheap, plentiful and well made for the most part. Now that we are in the circle of friends I pass the feather of knowledge to you. Your turn to share :-)

I guess with your logic all the trees and any other solid objects anywhere near a road right of way should also be removed.

The age thing in our info was removed a couple years ago. I don't think it went 3 places for Lucky though..... 40 to 50 is young..  Cut away.

I love a cool mailbox like anyone else. Here is an ongoing story here in Kazoo County though where NFL Vikings star Greg Jennings who lives here and some other neighbors very recently had theirs torn down at their expense and now the road commission cops are out on the prowl for more. Specifications on my mail box. 4 inch thick wall pipe. Three feet in the ground filled with concrete 3 feet deep and 18in. outside diameter. Pipe filled with concrete. Mailbox is 1/4in plate steal. I made it like this after some kids took out three of mine.

What if the car that hits it is a person that has a medical problem?
Then they should not be driving.

What if the car that hits it has children in the car?
Put there seat belts on and don't drive off the road. ;)

What if the car that hits it slipped on the icy roadway?
That is why the citation says driving to fast for the road conditions. ;)

What if it is a motorcycle rider that is young and stupid.

That is why there insurance cost so much. I can not control there stupid actions.
They should be glad my mailbox stopped then from running off the road and going 100 feet down I should get paid for saving their life. Come to think about it all your questions probably apply to you so warning stay away from my mailbox. ::)

Without a title the frame was junk before it was cut...  ::)

That's not always true my friend. Here in Wisconsin the bikes were titled to the motors.  In "The FIRST 48" you find an energetic soul with ambitious plans of a cool cafe racer, disassemble it,cut and throw away parts of the frame. Day 3 - 410 not much else gets done. Day 411 he puts it on Craigslist for half of what he paid for it. Day 412 you go buy his broken pipe dream with a titled motor and start the search for an unmolested frame.

+1.  Fairly straightforward to title a frame here in Texas. I have two spare motors looking for frames.
Judging by the title of the thread, you were looking for some shock value.

titled motors?- VIN's were I live are stamped in frames and liscense and theft bureau inspectors are in the "know" about all things, its there jobs. Laws differ from state to state. I wish I lived in a "no title" state like Georgia or Vermont but hey I am not complaining, I bought a cb750 for 100$ and if I didn't have to do a frame swap I wouldn't have a nice glossy black frame with fresh paint underneath  it all now.
