You are right -no spokes should stick up. True the vertical hop first then lateral side to side...Larry

Larry thanks for the confirmation, the problem is, It's got me how to do it. I've got to read up and figure it out.
I presume I need to drawn the hub closer to the centre, there's obviously a way to determine the best way to do that.
It's a steep learning curve.

Mick - start over by loosening all spokes so they're same length. Then, turn, tighten in sequence, spin, tighten little by little. This should get you even length and true. It's a gentle process of tiny adjustments.

Hard the first time, easy the 20th.

Getting the wheels then rubber on them will be a huge step, then insert engine.

Cal after sleeping on it and another 2 1/2 hours, I'm pretty happy with the front wheel.
I started by bringing up (closer to the hub) the half (marked with tape) where the rim was out by about 1 cm.

Loosened the opposite spokes and gradually brought the rim up and after I was reasonably happy with the getting the rim round I finished getting rim straightened. Is 50thou still too much, it's not much with the naked eye.

Comments are welcome if needs to be better.

Was able to get the front wheel truer than earlier with more tweeking and the back wheel started with anti seize grease on all spokes and was much easier than the front, pretty much straight and the axle was only a few millimeters off.

This is the coolest part/segment of the build Mick. At least, imo. You're actually getting a hint of what it's gonna look like as it slowly takes shape.

A little commentary: oddly enough, there are those who would never ride a bike so meticulously restored and pristine as you're building. Me, I'd never undertake this level of restoration as its not my interest. But, if I did, I'd ride the bike every day, everywhere. I think the best testimony to these machines is their classic beauty and reliability. And if they get dirty or scratched, well, just fix her up again

I sure hope you enjoy this thing immensely and regularly, Mick. It reflects your attention to detail and deserves to be shared on the open road for many others to admire.

Wheels went in today to get tyres and balance. More back from chromers.

Question. Is the Throttle Shaft chrome or zinc? I was told if it's chromed I'll have difficulty getting the joint connectors on to it.
