Wow! I wouldn't mind buying that! (With a winning lottery ticket of course!) Nice Trifecta he's got going there.
Believe it or not, I remember that CBX from it's 2011 eBay listing.

Can't believe the GL is going for more than the CBX and the same price as the Sandy. I would think the other two are the more collectable. I know around here they are.

The GL1000 LTD is rare and pretty collectible, but not THAT rare and collectible, even in never run condition. In fact, I wouldn't pay extra for a never run museum piece. I would much rather find a super clean low mileage runner for half that price.

That's a GL1000 LTD. Not exactly your standard GL1000 and quite rare. I've only ever seen two. One year only(1976), special paint, lots of gold anodized and chrome parts, different fenders, quilted seat.  The fact it has only reaveled 1.8 miles and is unrestored probably adds to the high price.

Goldwings are a largely american motorcycle. They were made here in Marysville Ohio from 1981 till 2012. It is unusual to see an early GL1000 outside the US, esp in someplace like england.

So...um... What exactly is a sandcast?  :-[

**Googled this. Apparently the fact that the engine was cast in sand boxes appears to be more desirable?

$25K in the early 2000s which was the last time I checked on price. Found something on the net from 2008 quoting $29,500.

I think there was one that sold on ebay for more, but IIRC you have to buy the bike in advance from Vic - they are made to order and it takes time.

This has me pissed off to be honest. Jealous? Probably. But I can't help thinking the vendor is more interested in his bulging bank account than he is in motorcycles. None of them will be able to be out on the road with any confidence unless you're prepared to strip them down and replace all the seals and tyres. It's not even as if they have been on display for the benefit of others, just sitting in his fukcing living room!

Never mind a hacked up frame. This is true sacrilege in my book. Maybe I should get out more...

They are just three bikes out of tens of thousands honda made. If demand was really great for old hondas then every piece of junk would be worth real money (as in new bike money) but it isn't. Be happy these are not being used and being preserved and well looked after. Be pissed off at the ones not being used and are in someone's garden shed rotting away or holding up a fence in the garden. There are way more crappy bikes not being used out there and that is the real crime - neglect rather than appreciation.

Anybody can neglect a motorbike, its rare to see someone presearve one.

How do you have a motorbike without riding it unless you don't really have a passion for bikes?
it's great to see these bikes in original condition because a lot us never did see them when they were on the showroom floor, however I still don't get it. maybe if Honda had kept a few bikes as show pieces I could understand, but as oldskoolnuts said he is just lining his pockets.
