Got the new k&n pods. they are good quality and go on well. (not a pod thread!) They allow for quite a bit more air than the old cheap pods from China so slapping them on made the bike run real lean. I had 120 main jets in and knew I had to go to 125 or 130s. I didn't have any. Figured what do I have to lose. I took a 1/16 drill to some new 115s that I would never use and installed those. The bike is happy! Lots of acceleration with no dead spots. Whatever they are now is what the bike likes.
The front end headshake is no more! A little patience and a spoke wrench turned my front wheel from wobbly to true. Such a joy now to go down the road without feeling like I was going through detox.
I had some new swing arm bushings laying around that I've never gotten around to installing. Decided to get it over with. Everything came off easy. I was able to get the old bushings out without the use of a hacksaw. Had the new bushings in, rear brake connected, back wheel on, all in about an hour.
Also, this morning, I noticed that my new scorpion battery was dead. wtf? Measured voltage coming out of the alternator... zilch. Took the covers off to look at the stator. It looked like it was almost new when I noticed one of the 3 phase wires wasn't connected. Connected, crimped and I'm back up and running.
Thankful for a week where things went ok... somehow it seemed noteworthy
