My ultrasonic cleaner has been getting a bunch of workouts cleaning carbs, 4 sets for friends 750s and a set of 500/4 K0. And I've been cleaning 7 sets of my own with it after.
And my new to me Baldor Buffer is getting used to polish up the bowls, top rings, intake rubber boot clamps and the brass drain plugs and the vacuum sink plugs.
And the intake rubber clamps have been getting reworked flattening where the screw heads mushroom the surface, cut a couple of bars of 3/8"×3" aluminum flat stock to 5/16"×3" and 3/8" × 3" to flatten first with the vise then found it worked better hammered on top of the vise.
I bought a bag of 4mm stainless steel flat washers to go between the screwheads and the clamp to strengthen the clamp surface, new screws to go along with the polished clamps to brighten them up for some more life(yes they will need some Semichrome to keep them looking bright).
The details that set off the carbs.....
New carb boot clamps now come black from Honda and aren't cheap $$$

Thanks Den
It passes the time awaiting riding season. I put a fresh set of carbs on my K5 yesterday after bench testing for leaks. Haven't fired it up yet as the roads are still salty and 150' of mud driveway to get out to the roads, even if the rain that's coming over night washes the roads clean.
I have new stainless steel brake hoses from Raymond Chan to put on the 78 Supersport once I finish the carbs that are sitting on the lift awaiting completion of the deep cleaning of each body and the jets for the other 6 sets.
Hoping to get the 78 Supersport ready in the new few weeks for a ride to bike night if the weather gets better.

Your original OEM Honda clamps polish up very nice Stu  8)
I have straightened some before where the screw heads bend them;a small washer in there is the best.

Finally got a seat lock bracket at a decent price.

Cleaning and repainting it to install on the 75 CB750.

Also got another rack of carbs for the 74 CB350F coming, got those for a decent price.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.

Sweated off the 14 year old Kenda that was on the back of my 1971 cb750K1. What a pig! Checked the rim to ensure it’s nice and true (I used new spokes and rim last time). All good. Decide to leave the rest for another time, sometimes it’s best to take a break!

I agree but I don’t have the fortitude, I take it to some one with a machine, which I fortunately know. This was from a couple of years ago , a donated K0. With a Borrani rim which I thought should be saved. My friend passed the job onto the young guy. 40 minutes later I gave him a tip.

Tires seem to metamorphose into an another element with age and weathering. Brute strength is the only way to get them off.

That’s what I thought, the oil tank cap was left off. Never seen a rusted oil tank through the bottom.

Years ago I built a new rim and discovered a large scratch in it, after someone else mounted and balanced a new tire. Done my own since.

Pretty much all my bikes have new tires I’ve mounted and balanced in the past 12 months….. I might be done with it too!
