Chicagoland mechanic recommendations
« on: November 12, 2013, 08:49:08 AM »
Can anyone give me some recommendations for a Chicagoland (including suburbs) mechanic?  I'm looking for someone who can work on a 1977 CB750K.

Thanks

What type of work are you considering?

The bike is currently leaking gas from one of the intakes on a carb.  I was looking to have the carbs cleaned, rebuilt and synced.  I would also like some recommendations for other stuff including painting (gas tank and body parts)

You might check with Redline Cycles in Skokie. They mostly work on vintage Kawasakis these days (particularly the Z1), but depending on workload will also work on other vintage Japanese bikes. http://www.redlinecycle.com/

I have not used them myself, but the guy who bought my '77 Goldwing yesterday swears by them. He currently owns a bunch of GL1000's and a CBX, so I feel pretty good about his recommendation.

I contacted Redline and they said that currently they only service vintage Kawasakis.  Any other recommendations out there?
