Dual disk set up. brake rotor sizes 75-77 GL1000 and CBs
« on: October 19, 2013, 08:29:56 PM »
Trying to think of a period dual disk set up for 400F.  Does anyone know which if any of the 6-hole CB rotors can be swapped into the 75-77 GL1000 fork lowers and calipers?

Do you have two caliper mounts? On the GLROTORS THE DIAMETER IS SMALLER THAN. 750s

Not yet 754, looking for some to calipers to restore and their mounts.  I think I may be collecting some old GL parts and seeing which hub and rotor combo will work with GL spoke wheel and caliper set up.  thanks.

Keep in mind that the '76 GL calipers are unique and don't take the same mounts as the '78 and higher calipers. I've read on the goldwing forums that the carriers (22 on the fiche below) will let you use DOHC CB calipers and '78+ goldwing calipers on the '76 front end so keep that in mind.

Another caliper option is a brembo P32/P34G caliper. Nearly the same C-C spacing as the '76 caliper.

Early GL uses a same hub as 450, 500, 750, but rotors are different. Not clear wether you were tring to use 400 forks at all. A suggestion though may be to mount one big Ducati or Yamaha rotor to. The stock fork if you can figure out caliper mounting.
