Pingel Petcock on an F2 tank. Attention:. MRieck!!
« on: October 20, 2013, 09:48:07 pm »
I think Mike Rieck told me that the petcock for a CB1100F has the same thread pitch as the tank on my 78' F model. Anyone care to comment?

I need a dual outlet version for my flatslides. The single outlet stock petcock is likely starving my motor on the big end.

It's not the answer you're looking for but if you need another option, I have a new 5/16" dual oulet Pingle I would part with. It's 22x1mm, different from stock, so you'll need to weld in a new tank boss. The boss is $10 or so from Pingle. Send me a pm if it suits you.

Frank....I don't know if the 1100 diameter/pitch is the same as the F2. I do know the 750F is different (larger OD) than the F2

Mike, i did look at some old threads and saw where you posted that the CBX petcock would likely work on the 78' F model. Does that ring a bell. I think you also had a friend that could make the adapter per the same thread. Let me know.

BWALLER, thanks. I've got a weld in bung but didn't want to screw up my paint just yet. Hopefully  i can figure out the bolt-on type soon.

I am very sure the CBX and F2 bungs are the same. Pingel makes an adapter for the CBX which would make your life easier. I think it only takes a 1/4" Pingel fuel valve which are single feed only if memory serves correct. I am sure the single Pingel ( with a T fitting) would flow more than enough for you.

Thanks Mike for that confirmation. Although the Pingel might be a single outlet, anything is better than the fuel delivery from that tiny hole in the stock petcock. My Mikunis do have duel feed lines with a "T" now so thats not an issue.

Mike, last question, do you recall if it has 18 or 20mm threads on the tank. I guess i could measure it myself-lol.

Bill, take a caliper to the threads. I have both tanks with original paint I can measure.

82' shows 20mm
Right...but the F2 bung has a pretty small OD Frank. Give it a measure....I don't have an F2 tank here BUT I did and I remember it to be a pretty small OD. If you have a thread pitch gauge measure that too and I'll measure the 79 CBX tank I have. I am very sure that early CBX , 18mm adapter is what you want. 1981 was light years away from the 77/78 F2. ;) ;D

Thanks gentleman. With all the BS going on with my wheel and rotor it was easier to type than to just go measure the dang thing. Lol. I appreciate all the help.

I know this is an older thread but I thought maybe some of you guys might be interested in a adapter nut to put a Pingel valve on a 77-78 F fuel tank.  Here is the thread that I have started...
